The Blue Lodge is part of the unique and colorful 'Iguanas of Stavoren'. These sustainably built vacation homes are idyllically situated on a small headland. The water around the spit of land provides a connection with the adjacent meadow nature reserves. The Blue Lodge offers beautiful views of this natural water.
In this spacious and bright vacation home in Friesland you can stay with 6 people near the IJsselmeer. The Blue Lodge is located about 10 minutes walk from the center of Stavoren with several terraces and amenities including a supermarket with extensive range.
Swimming can be done at the nearby swimming beach at the IJsselmeer and also you can easily use the facilities of the Marina Haven, including the indoor pool and small mini-market.
The story behind the design and construction of the 'iguanas of Stavoren' can be found in the interview with the initiators, who already 20 years ago had a vision on sustainable building. In the Blue Lodge this is reflected, for example, in the cellulose in the roof and in the outer walls, which provide an excellent indoor climate and optimal (sound) insulation. The cuddly loam walls radiate a very cozy warmth and provide pure air in the house. Thanks to the breathable walls, there is optimum moisture management.
Layout and facilities of the Blue Lodge:
Blue it is! This is reflected in the interior of the house, with blue wooden deck floors and light blue walls.
The living area has a spacious kitchen, equipped with an induction hob, dishwasher, oven, freezer, Nespresso machine, microwave and kettle. The dining area has a sofa and separate chairs. Both from the dining area and from the lounge sofa you can watch TV and there is also a view of the cosy wood-burning stove. WiFi is available throughout the house.
The living room is very bright thanks to the spacious conservatory which has doors to the garden with decking both directly behind the house and on the water. From the decking on the water there is a view of the adjacent village of Warns.
The holiday home has four bedrooms on the first floor. Two rooms are furnished with a double bed and wardrobe and each has a small balcony. Furthermore, there is a bedroom with two single beds that can be pushed together if desired. There is also a room on the first floor with a bunk bed
In addition, there is a room on the ground floor with two separate box-spring beds in an L-shape. This room is suitable for people who do not wish to use the stairs, as there is also a bathroom downstairs with a shower and washbasin. There is also a separate toilet on the ground floor. In the (sleeping) room on the ground floor, behind sliding doors, there are also a washing machine and dryer.
The room on the ground floor offers beautiful views of the garden and the water behind. Due to the width of the corridors, the room is unfortunately not suitable for people in wheelchairs.
For storing bicycles for example, use can be made of the shed at the front of the house. Here you can also find wood to fire the wood stove.
The bedrooms and their layout make the Blue Lodge very suitable for two or large families with or without grandparents (room downstairs). Or for example for three or four couples. Because of its location, the Blue Lodge is not rented out to young people and is not suitable for (garden) parties.
The sunny, spacious and private backyard (500m2 plot area) is accessible through the living room and through the right side garden. Here is also a trampoline and BBQ available.
The Blue Lodge has two parking spaces directly at the vacation home. Any other cars can be parked on the general parking lot, directly after the exit towards the 'Leguanen van Stavoren'.

Besides the rent you pay on the spot to the administrator € 120 for
the cleaning and the kitchen linen and € 9 per person for the bedding. The beds will be made for you before arrival.
